Please Note: If you haven’t yet installed Composer please install it according to the instructions given in my previous post Installing Composer in 7 Steps as you can’t install Laravel 4.2 without first installing the Composer.

Let’s start installing Yii 2 by following these 3 steps.

Installing PHP, Apache Server and MySQL seems to be very difficult and almost tiresome for the beginners and some times for average developers as well. But don’t worry we have a three in one like solution, the WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) Server. You just need to download WAMP Server and install it like other Windows Applications.

Don’t bother how to do all that, I’ve explained each and every step below. Just follow step by step instructions and you’ll end up with the installation of PHP, MySQL and Apache Server.

Step 2: Browsing the Local Server on your Web Browser

Now to make sure that the WAMP Server has been installed successfully follow the following steps.

Double click the WAMP Server icon on the desktop. You’ll see a new icon is added in your system tray which changes its color as give below:

1. Orange to Red
2. Red to Green
